Welcome to Water2Table Fish Co!  Joe and I founded this company with a goal of connecting local fish and fishermen direct with chefs and restaurants.  The connection chefs have to farmers and foragers was lacking when it came to fishermen, but we source directly from local, small scale fishermen.  In an industry plagued by fraud, mislabeling, bogus certifications, slick “sustainable” marketing campaigns, we are committed to providing quality, fresh fish that is traceable and sustainable.  It’s as simple as that.

  • Indicate Fish and desired weight.  You can also just tell us how many people you are feeding and we can figure it out for you.
  • Orders placed by midnight will be delivered the following day.  Indicate delivery date and window for delivery (morning, afternoon or early evening) for San Francisco orders.  If you live outside San Francisco, deliveries will take place between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.  We can deliver to your home, office, or alternate location.
  • For your first order, we will call you back to confirm and gather credit card information.  All credit card information is stored securely and managed through PayPal.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO PLACE MY ORDER?

You can call or email your order before midnight for next day delivery.  Because of the nature of wild product, we cannot guarantee certain fish will be available for pre-orders.  We are often picking up fish the night before for next day delivery.  If bad weather comes up, boats break down, or a fisherman strikes out, we may not be able to get the fish you ordered, but we are always able to provide a substitution. The list will be emailed weekly on Mondays and updates will be emailed on Thursday.

WHERE DO YOU DELIVER?

We deliver throughout the Bay Area including San Francisco, East Bay, South Bay and North Bay.  We also deliver to Napa/Sonoma and Monterey.

DO I HAVE TO BE HOME FOR THE DELIVERY?

Our delivery hours are 7:00 am – 7:00 pm for San Francisco and we ask you to provide a window for delivery, morning, afternoon or early evening.  If you live outside SF, we deliver between 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.   We will ask you to prefer a morning or afternoon delivery or early evening delivery. If you will not be home during those hours, we can leave your fish in a secure spot, like inside an unlocked front gate.  Just provide any special instructions when ordering.  All fish is packed in insulated sleeves with reusable ice packs to ensure it stays cold. 

WHAT IF I MISS MY DELIVERY?

If you happen to miss your delivery, call Andi at 415.724.1225 and we can figure out an alternative plan.

WHAT IF I DON’T MEET THE MINIMUM DELIVERY?

For deliveries totaling under $75, there is a delivery fee of $12. 

DO YOU REUSE PACKAGING?

We recycle our packaging including boxes, ice packs and tubs.  Just return the items to your delivery driver or call us to pick up.

HOW DO I GET A RECEIPT?

We email a full receipt when we process your order on the day of delivery.  We will also include an invoice with your delivery.

WHERE DO YOUR FISH COME FROM?  IS IT WILD?  IS IS FARMED?  IS IT SUSTAINABLE?

The origin of all our fish is listed on the product list as well as the method of catch. We will provide you the closest connection with local fish and fishermen.  We battle lack of transparency and honesty every day in this industry.  Because we are picking up these fish daily direct from our fishermen, you can be assured the true origin of the fish.  We encourage you to follow Joe at Twitter as he often tweets when he’s picking up fish at night and check his location!

HOW FRESH ARE YOUR FISH?

Fish usually go from fishermen to the receiver in each port. The receivers then sell the fish to wholesalers. Wholesalers then sell to distributors who then deliver to the restaurants. This system often results in restaurants getting their fish 3-5 days after it is caught and possibly more if it sits in inventory at any one of these locations. Water2Table’s Premium Local Fish is picked up directly from fishermen, or at times from other receivers, and delivered directly to your kitchen, which results in the fish arriving to your guests within a day or two of being caught.

Yes!  We can assist you planning parties including oyster stations, clam bakes and whole fish parties.  We can also assist you with finding top SF chefs for private events.
